Lens: Nikon 20mm

Aperture: f/8.0
ISO: 125
Was there any special preparation required to capture the photo?
I checked the swell and weather and both seemed favorable. I really enjoy shooting sunrise before the winds pick up.
How long have you been shooting?
I’ve been shooting on and off for about 25 years and shooting waves for about 4.
What's your favorite subject matter to shoot?
Empty waves at sunrise for sure!
Where would be your dream location to take photos?
I have two locations I really want to shoot, Hawaii and the Galapagos Islands.
Who are some photographers that inspire you?
Edward Weston and Ansel Adams really inspired me to shoot and build a darkroom in my garage. More recently Clark Little and Justin Hoeppner produce amazing work and have inspired me to shoot in the water.
What excites you about photography?
I get excited about where my photography leads me. Whether it’s backpacking through Yosemite or in the ocean at sunrise, I really enjoy being out in nature. Sharing the experience with other photographers is pretty rad too.
