Where was the image shot?
Sequoia National Park, CA

What camera did you use and what were the settings?
Camera: Olympus E-PL7
Lens: M Zukio 14-42
Shutter Speed: 1/320
Aperture: f/13
ISO: 2000

Was there any special preparation required to capture the photo?
I just hike this area a lot and wanted to capture the power of a giant sequoia in sunset golden light. The background trees just added to it for me.

How long have you been shooting?
Approximately 6 years shooting digital. Before kids, 8 years on film.

What's your favorite subject matter to shoot?
Any nature is by far and away my favorite, starting to explore macro photography more.

Where would be your dream location to take photos?
I feel a pull to the Swiss Alps and anywhere in the Sierra Nevada, not in a crowd though.

Who are some photographers that inspire you?
Paul Nicklen, Erin Babnik, Sean Bagshaw, Sarah Marino, David Thompson, Anne Belmont, David Kingham, Kelley Cox and many more… and of course Ansel Adams.

What excites you about photography?
I enjoy the creative process, exploring, learning and trying new things. I do best when I show up without a plan and just be. Planning is okay but just being in the moment is the best!
