Where was the image shot?
Emerald Lake, British Columbia, Canada
What camera did you use and what were the settings?
Camera: Sony a6300
Shutter Speed: 1/1000
Was there any special preparation required to capture the photo?
There wasn’t any plan of going to Emerald Lake on this trip. I saw an early season storm heading for Alberta and drove 15 hours to go snowboarding. This was the first place I stopped and within a few hours everywhere within 100 miles was covered in snow.
How long have you been shooting?
I’ve been shooting since 2012 when I bought a camera to photograph surf trips with friends.
What's your favorite subject matter to shoot?
Shooting around the ocean will always be my favorite, especially below the surface or eye level with a wave rolling in. I actually just began a sailing circumnavigation that will last three years!
Do you shoot with a crew or shoot solo?
I shoot solo.
What excites you about photography?
I love sharing beautiful places around the world. Most people think it takes a crazy amount of money to see foreign places, when really you can see most spots by doing a little research, visiting off-season and sacrificing a little comfort.
