What camera did you use and what were the settings?
Camera: Canon 7D

Was there any special preparation required to capture the photo?
There wasn’t much. When I got to the beach it was quite crowded, so I walked until I was far from the other photographers and found a few sandbars to choose from. I watched for a couple minutes and decided where would be my best bet.
How long have you been shooting?
My cousin lended me my first camera when I was twelve. When I was thirteen I finally found a really good deal on a used 7D and old essex water housing. My dad would drive me to the beach to shoot the sunrise.
What's your favorite subject matter to shoot?
I love being in nature and exploring. My favorite subject has to be waves and the way light reflects off the water. Being in the ocean has played a huge role in shaping me into the person I am.
Do you shoot with a crew or shoot solo?
It really depends, I've met nearly all of my friends through the ocean and appreciate our little community. While I do enjoy my time alone, there’s nothing more fun than getting slammed in some heavy wedge shorebreak with some of your best friends.
What excites you about photography?
The fact that you can always improve is really cool. There’s an endless amount of creativity you can apply to your images. Another exciting part is sharing some of the beautiful sights and moments that I experience with others.
