Was there any special preparation required to capture the photo?
A bit of planning, a lot of patience, and above all luck. For this picture I drove around the fjords of Tromso for several hours on the lookout for a clear sky. I used an app to see when the Northern lights would appear, but finding them was another matter. I nearly gave up and was on my way back to the hotel when the sky suddenly lightened and the Northern lights started to dance. I looked for a spot, set up the camera, and shot one picture after another until I got the perfect one.
How long have you been shooting?
I started shooting with my dad when I was a teenager and fell in love with it.
What's your favorite subject matter to shoot?
Everything that has to do with nature especially mountains and sunsets. I also enjoy shooting some sports while I am on trips with friends.
Do you shoot with a crew or shoot solo?
Sometimes I shoot on my own but I prefer to shoot with my wife or some friends beside me. They see the spot from a different angle that helps me optimize the final picture, and it’s nice to have some conversation along the way.
