Where was the image shot?
I shot this from my tent near Seis Am Schlern in Italy.

What camera did you use and what were the settings?
Camera: Canon 5D Mark IV
Lens: Canon EF  16-35mm
Shutter Speed: 30 seconds
Aperture: f/2.8
ISO: 1000

Was there any special preparation required to capture the photo?
I pitched my tent in a way that I could shoot this composition from the comfort of my sleeping bag and I set up my camera on the tripod before the sun went down. I took the first shots when the last light was just hitting the peaks of the mountains and afterwards I manually focused for the sky. I had to wait until it got really dark to shoot around 100 pictures of the night sky. I blended the 100 shots to make a trail of the stars and combined this with the sunset shot so that the mountains still had some light on them.

How long have you been shooting?
It really started in 2015 when snowboarding guide Rens de Wild asked me to join him on a backcountry snowboarding tour to shoot some pictures. From that moment I knew this was what I wanted to do in my life.

What's your favorite subject matter to shoot?
I love to shoot big landscapes with a small person in it, doing some kind of activity or sport. I also love to shoot surfers from the water and I really want to shoot climbers doing a multi pitch, while I'm hanging off the wall.

Do you shoot with a crew or shoot solo?
I'm usually accompanied by my girlfriend and our dog when I'm shooting the travel and lifestyle images.
