#52weeksofnature Photo Contest Week 29 Winner

The winner of Week 29 of our #52weeksofnature photo contest is Cameron Gabrys (@camgabes). When the smoke dissipates, nature's reflection can be a timely respite. Cameron has won a $100 gift code to hippytree.com and we are donating to the Surfrider Foundation in his name. Learn more about Cameron below.

Where was the image shot?
Lower Trail Lake off of the Seward Highway, Moose Pass, Alaska

What camera did you use and what were the settings?
Camera: Nikon D750
Lens: Nikon 24-120mm
Shutter Speed: 1/250
Aperture: f/8
ISO: 640

Was there any special preparation required to capture the photo?
My girlfriendĀ and I were bummed because there was smoke from three surrounding wildfires that was covering the area with some heavy smoke and haze. We thought we weren't even going to get a shot, but when the smoke gave way it created some unique shooting conditions.

How long have you been shooting?
I have been shooting on and off, but serious for a little over a year now.

What's your favorite subject matter to shoot?
I pretty much shoot landscapes. I am just trying to capture all of the places my girlfriend and I travel too.

Do you shoot with a crew or shoot solo?
I typically shoot solo. It makes it easier to improvise and push a little further. I also have an amazing girlfriend that models for me as well.
