Where was the image shot?
Havasu Falls in Arizona

What camera did you use and what were the settings?
Camera: Nikon D5300
Lens: Rokinon 16mm
Shutter Speed: 25 seconds
Aperture: f/2
ISO: 3200

Was there any special preparation required to capture the photo?
There was a lot of waiting for the clouds to pass and experimenting with my flashlight to illuminate the falls. A group of people I didn't know happened to approach the falls with their lights on and lit up the foreground in the bottom left, which really made this picture stand out from others I took that night.

How long have you been shooting?
I first got a 35mm camera 15 years ago and was fascinated by the science and art of photography. Unfortunately I had other priorities and a long time passed until I decided to get my first DSLR in January 2018. I have been shooting now consistently for the past year.

What's your favorite subject matter to shoot?
I am drawn to remote places and for that reason I have a natural inclination towards landscape photography. I look for unique perspectives and I especially like capturing these perspectives under the stars. As I spend more time with my camera, I’m beginning to enjoy a diversity of subjects such as wildlife and fine art.

Do you shoot with a crew or shoot solo?
I really enjoy both actually. Solitude in nature heightens my senses and allows me to take my own pace in experiencing the environment around me, but the laughter and shared goals of good company add another kind of enjoyment. I always welcome interested photographers and friends to come along with me, and yet I also thoroughly enjoy my time shooting alone.
