Where was the image shot?
Outside of La Pine, Oregon on the Deschutes River

What camera did you use and what were the settings?
Camera: Nikon D700
Lens: Nikon 24-70 mm
Shutter Speed: 28 sec
Aperture: f/4
ISO: 4000

Was there any special preparation required to capture the photo?
I had been to this spot several times for fly fishing and dropped a pin on the exact finger that gave a great vantage point of the meadow and the meandering river. After that I just monitored the weather and moon cycle for optimal night shooting.

How long have you been shooting?
I got my first camera at the age of 12 and have been shooting ever since — so roughly 18 years. Photography has never really been a professional endeavor for me, but more so of an escape and an excuse to explore my passions in life.

What's your camera of choice?
Anything I have on me, my DSLR, GoPro, iPhone. I'm not picky.

What’s your favorite subject matter to shoot?
Lately, I've been all about fly fishing and the chase for anadromous fish. But really, I enjoy shooting anything with water movement.

Do you shoot with a crew or shoot solo?
I mostly shoot solo, or with one or two people as subject matter.
