ISO: 400
Was there any special preparation required to capture the photo?
We never have any control over the ocean conditions and I constantly check the surf report for updates. This happened to be one of those special evenings alone in the water.
How long have you been shooting?
I've been shooting waves since 2013.
What's your favorite subject matter to shoot?
Waves, sharks and basically anything ocean related. The water and light combination is very unique, there is nothing quite like it.
Where would be your dream location to take photos?
I've been fortunate enough to shoot in some of my dream locations like Hawaii and Guadalupe Island. I would say Australia is my next dream location.
Who are some photographers that inspire you?
Clark Little, Euan Rannachan, and Nolan Omura. Also all the wave photographers in Santa Cruz, CA.
What excites you about photography?
Getting shots that no one else will be able to capture and sharing them with the world. I also want to spread awareness about sharks and help protect them from illegal fishing and to help promote a healthy ocean. The ocean has given us so much and it’s our responsibility to take care of it.
