The winners of Week 2 of our #52weeksofnature photo contest are Della Wheeler and Jacob Timpa (@dellajean). A lot of factors go into creating a great photograph, but at the end of the day there's nothing more important than composition and creativity. Was there any special preparation required to capture the photo?
The preparation was all in the journey. We paddled out in the afternoon and explored the trees in the middle of the lake. Eventually we set up the hammock at sunset and shot a lot of photos.
How long have you been shooting?
8 years.
What's your favorite subject matter to shoot?
Our adventures with paddling, surfing, climbing, and slacklining.
Where would be your dream location to take photos?
New Zealand or Iceland!

Sean Mullins of Pensacola Vibes, Nick Sopczak, and Theron Humphrey.
What excites you about photography?
We love the idea of capturing a moment and allowing it to live forever in a digital or printed form. Pictures are memories and as technology has progressed, it’s become such an art form. For us, photography puts us out of our comfort zone and puts us in places that we otherwise wouldn’t be - like in hammock between trees in the middle of a lake!
