So the story goes... when we were in Brooklyn the other month I stayed with my brother who lives with a dog named Bonz and a cat named Meowser. Bonz and Meowser are good friends and like to play. Just recently Bonz accidentally took a chunk of of Meowser's leg while they were fooling around. Now I don't know if Meowser got upset over the whole situation or needed some fresh air, but somehow Meowser got outside and has yet to return. So Meowser, if you are reading this, please come home. Brooklyn is not safe for you.

This photo just came through the pipeline from Joe Lewis in Portland. Nice to see some people experimenting with our Drop Trees project. This kind of stuff stokes us out. And in case you didn't know, we are still offering a free HippyTree t-shirt to anyone who successfully slangs some trees over some wires. Click here to find out more, or visit the Drop Trees section in our projects section.

Spyder Surfshop in Hermosa Beach had its 25th anniversary party the other weekend. Being a local company we set up our tent to show some support. With adult flavored snow cones, perfect weather, and the boardwalk looking more like a block party... it was a good day. Big-ups to all of our friends, fans, and hobos who swung by to say what's up. Without you there would be no HippyTree.

Part of our East Coast sales trip covered New York City. If you have never been to The Big Apple then you need to go. It's a must see to anyone whether you like traveling or not. From the sky scrapers to the subways to the people to the noise to the food to the street art. NYC is one of the most inspiring places on the planet. "Surf Report: Is There Hippy In Your Tree?" Cool title for a little write-up about HippyTree on la.cityzine.com. The article sheds a little light on what it feels like to be a small company in an industry dominated by big corporations. You can read the entire article in our press section or by clicking here.

This photo was posted on our Myspace by Steve Gonzales. Always cool to see people who we have never met getting down with the Tree. Thanks for the support and creativity Steve. Keep on rocking before the buffalo come and take your skateboard away.

East Coast Skunk, Part 2. We finally did break the boards out on our last day of the trip for a quick and cold session in Queens, New York. Kind of hard to say we scored some waves when the boards stayed packed for 13 out of 14 days. But hey, nature isn't always on your side... and you don't really need waves to have a good time. Just wanted to give a little shout out to our friend and long time HippyTree supporter Rich Silva. Born and raised in the South Bay, Rich has been backing the Tree before it even existed. Hands down, Rich can boost... on anything.

Our boy Matt Zullo has been slicing it up on the East Coast. Matt recently joined the HippyTree family to help spread the word about the Tree in Florida. Here's a shot of Zullo making some sushi at his home break, Sebastian Inlet.

We recently took a 2 week sales trip from Florida to New York (flew into Miami and out of NYC). We brought boards with us but didn't get to break them out till the day we left (that's how bad the surf was)... so we are appropriately titling this trip "East Coast Skunk." Nevertheless, we had a good time, visited some killer shops and met some great people. Click here to view Part 1 of East Coast Skunk.
