Where was the image shot?
Sedona, Arizona

What camera did you use and what were the settings?
Camera: Canon 5D Mark III
Lens: Canon 16-35mm
Shutter Speed: 1/125
Aperture: f/7.1
ISO: 100

Was there any special preparation required to capture the photo?
Not too much. We got there in the morning before the crowds came. This hike is usually pretty populated but we went during the middle of the week and once it got busy we headed out.

How long have you been shooting?
I started when I was 15 or 16. I was more interested in old Polaroid Land Cameras and 35mm film and I like to mimic those colors in my digital photography.

What's your favorite subject matter to shoot?
Anywhere outside away from civilization. I like to shoot places where the only evidence of human existence is the open road.

Where would be your dream location to take photos?
For the longest time it was Iceland. I finally got to shoot over there back in 2017, so now my next goal is Alaska. I just love shooting the places that stay lit in that perfect lighting for hours and hours.

Who are some photographers that inspire you?
Ansel Adams is an obvious one of course, but such a legend. I also enjoy Kevin Russ' and Asher Moss' film photography.

What excites you about photography?
If I have my camera, it means I am going on a trip and that is for sure the most exciting part. I also love that there are so many different cameras out there that are such gems. It is fascinating when you find an old camera and think about the people who froze time and created a story with it.
